Work From Bed Friday

The Backstory and The Breakthrough

Tommy Borden & Amy Hoffmann Season 1 Episode 1

In their debut episode, Amy Hoffmann and Tommy Borden give a quick history of their 30-year relationship and the recent breakthrough that changed everything. They start with their meet-cute at a polka-dot party in San Francisco’s Marina district in 1994 and sprint through their long-distance courtship to trailer living, marriage, children and moving eight times in three years before settling in Portland, OR where they finally learned how to really love one another.

Reading All About Love by bell hooks was a watershed moment that completely transformed their relationship. Other books followed: Come As You Are by Emily Nagowski, Magnificent Sex by Peggy Kleinplatz and A Ménard, and most recently, All Fours by Miranda July. The enthusiastic two-person better-than-a-bookclub that grew out of these books became the heart and soul of this podcast!
